Breakthrough Prayer

When I really think about it there are a lot of things that I am tired and weary of. Things that I have had just about enough of. I wonder how many of you can identify with these words, "I am tired of the status quo." I am tired of being defeated by a defeated enemy. I am tired of a powerless life and a powerless church.

I am not tired of praying. I am not tired of expecting God to breakthrough in my life and in others' lives. I will not quit, I will not give up, I will finish my course and fulfill my destiny.

Each of the things we are tired of can be changed through prayer.

All great bible leaders drank of the oldest well of our fathers; the ancient well of fervent prayer. Prayer is the one ancient well that the devil hopes we will never re-dig in our generation. That way there will be no significant kingdom advance, and our nation remains in Satan’s grip. The well of prayer is the one he fears most.

5 Aspects of BreakthroughPrayer

1. Ask and Keep Asking

Maybe the single greatest reason for unanswered prayer is that we stop praying. It's a law of life; if want something you have to ask. In this day of instant everything we struggle to hang in there. We cook faster, travel faster, earn faster, spend faster.
We can speed to the prayer closet with great energy, speed to one or two prayer meetings, speed to church, but lack the heart for sustained effort. We stop before enough power has been released through our prayers to get the answer. We don‘t need more bursts of explosive prayer; we need more stamina, staying power to get the job done.

2. Faith Declarations

Faith transforms the way you pray, it energizes and empowers you. When faith takes hold in a person walls come down. Suddenly our words have creative capability. Begin to declare salvation for your family. Speak to your bank account and command it to prosper.
God has given you the power to establish your world within the boundaries of His Word. You create your world by declaration, especially the declaration of the Word of God. Little happens in the Kingdom of God without declaration.

3. Pray with Others

Tremendous power is released when people gather to pray.

Matthew 18:19
“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven."

If you are struggling to get breakthrough, pray with others. When we pray together a corporate anointing is released, which is far greater than individual anointing. God is forcing us to see how much we all need one another.
Some of the most powerful verses in scripture indicate the corporate anointing.

Romans 8:37
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

2 Corinthians 2:14
Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

The more isolated we are as individuals, the more we may struggle to experience breakthrough in our lives. The day of the isolated Christian - I can make it alone and pray alone - is over.

4. Releasing Our Destiny And Inheritance In God

Ephesians 1:11
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,

One of the most important areas to pray in is claiming the inheritance and destiny God has for us. As a church we have aspects of our inheritance that we need to release in prayer. These are ours from Heaven.

God has also planned amazing blessings and a wonderful destiny for your life. The time is now to passionately pray claiming all God has ordained for us.

Deuteronomy 28:12-13
12 The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

5. Releasing Enough Power for Breakthrough

Certain amounts of power must be released in the spirit realm to accomplish certain things. Different things require different amounts of power. For example, you need a certain amount of power for flashlight, but more to light a building, and a lot more to light up a city.

Read 1 Kings 18:41-46. Why did Elijah have to keep persevering in prayer? He had to release enough power for the answer to come. Elijah's posture was that of a women giving birth, intense travail. Prayer is birthing, it is not easy.

Sporadic, casual praying will not release enough power to see breakthrough. It takes persistent, fervent and faith filled prayer; often with other people. Victory comes to the persistent. We need committed, determined, systematic, persistent prayer; not once in a while fireworks. It's time to pray and release our inheritance and destiny in God.
