New Era Part 3

Key aspects of this New Era

1. A Greater Open Heaven

Deuteronomy 28:12-13
12 The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

Malachi 3:10
10  Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.

Giving tithes is connected to a new era.

Also, with an open heaven and a new era, people will be radically transformed.

2. The Sunday Experience Will Lift to a Higher Level

Our Sundays are very good, but I believe we can do better. I have a conviction in my heart that in the new era God wants us to increase the standards of excellence in our church on Sundays. This will involve all of us. We all impact people and influence the services. Your smile adds excellence, your frown doesn’t. Kind words help, mean words don’t.

They say a new All Black era began in 2004 when they drew a line in the sand. They ended binge drinking and a lack of professionalism. Then they added these words: a hunger to work relentlessly at being better.

a. Starts in the carpark, moves to greeters and ushers, and music

b. Connecting with new people on Sunday's needs to be a top priority
c. We can all model a passion for worship and a hunger for the word

3. New Zealand and Beyond will become the main event of the year

A huge percentage of our church people attend. By 2017 we would like to be in the Waitakere Trust Stadium.

4. By My Spirit

Zechariah 4:6
6 So he answered and said to me:
“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, ’
Says the Lord of hosts.

This new era will not happen by sheer manpower or human effort. It's too big for that. Although it will require diligence, the new era is what God wants to do through us.

Galatians 3:3
3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

God initiated the new era, only He can fulfill it.

When we don’t depend on the Spirit we get more stressed and work in flesh. We get too busy and have a danger of burnout. The key is stay close to God, and be daily in prayer and the Word.

Isaiah 40:29-31
29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
